Bakery birthday cake for kid party--seeking recs for Bethesda/Rockville/Gaithersburg

Anonymous
I'm looking for something that tastes good that can serve at least 25. I prefer a rectangle shaped cake. Stella's, where I've ordered from before and liked a lot, seems to have reworked its cake selection. I'm not looking for fancy decoration a la Little Cakes and Creamery--just generic birthday/festive. What places am I forgetting? (No grocery store recs--my DH is scarred from childhood).

Would Costco count as a grocery store? Because it has rectangular shaped cakes that serve 25 and have always been crowd pleasers at kid parties I've attended. You can even get decorations added.

Nothing Bundt Cakes in Bethesda makes the best cake I have ever eaten! Kids love the party cake flavor but there are others to choose from. The frosting is delicious. They also serve mini cupcakes called Bundt-ini’s. You can get a mix of flavors. These are the freshest and moistest cake/cupcakes I have ever eaten.

Op, have Stella not updated their website? The cake selection looks similar to previous years. Just wondering cause they are a favorite of ours too.

Would grocery store cake like Costco or Wegmans work?

Wegmans cakes are really good.

Les Delices Bakery in Rockville.

I also hated grocery cakes from growing up but the Costco vanilla mousse filled cake made a concert of me. I wish they sold just that filling so I could put it into my homemade cakes.

Otherwise I was gojng to suggest Stella’s. Les Delices is another option or maybe praline but I don’t know if praline does just a plain old cake if that’s what you want.

+1 They taste nothing like typically-awful grocery store cakes.

Agree with Wegmans and Nothing Bundt Cakes. And I just had an AMAZING sheet cake from BJs last week. Even my kids asked me where it was from.
