| Where do you get nicer outfits for girls? My daughter will need to go to some functions where she can’t wear jeans/shorts but it’s not like homecoming formal. Think nicer dinners out with restaurants with dress codes. In summer we can get away with sundresses, but heading in the fall and winter. It’s been hard to find things that are age-appropriate for a 14/15-year-old. Thank you! |
| Nordstrom, usually. Sometimes Abercrombie/Abercrombie kids. They have cute dresses, rompers, smocked tops, etc. |
| Altar'd State was my daughters' go to for those nicer types of outfits but unfortunately the two locations in our area closed. |
Yes, this is where we used to go! |
| Zara. |
+2 Altar'd State |
| Francesca’s is similar to altered state |
| H&M has cute dresses that won’t break the bank. We also get from Gap and Old Navy. |
| Has anyone purchased from Cider? |
| Anyone have luck at kohls? It’s a hike for us. |

DD has a dress from Urban Outfitters that works for sone events. Floral, long sleeves (and fairly short, with a lower square neckline).
I struggle to help her with other in-between looks. Nice brunch/lunch. Some occasions when we are traveling. She’s a senior who lives in jeans and tshirts. She’s willing to dress up more when needed, but she feels lost. |
| Mine has a knit skirt from Lands End that is navy blue, and she wears that with ballet flats, a layering tee shirt, and a colored cardigan. Very versatile. |
This sounds like us. Everything either looks like you’re going to the club or too boring/mom fits. |
| I worked at Altar'd State, and I agree with PP that Francesca's has very similar stuff. There is a Francesca's at Tysons. |
No. Thin, polyester garbage |
