We put it inside with our first kid, which kept it it place better.
But 2nd kid's dorm has no a/c and it will be humid! Will mold be an issue? Putting a breathable mattress protector on top of all that. Then the flat sheets. What would you recommend? TIA! |
| Definitely inside |
| The memory foam topper should go above the encased mattress and under the fitted sheet, otherwise you are not getting the full benefit of the memory foam. The topper usually has it own fabric cover that allows it to breathe. |
We’re putting foam mattress topper above the bed, and then under the mattress protector which is cotton and hopefully breathable. Then the fitted sheet. I don’t think it would be comfortable to be on top of foam topper without AC. And unlike what another PP said, DS’s foam mattress topper doesn’t have anything breathable built into it. It’s just foam. |

I asked myself the same question, but our mattress protector isn't the encasing sort anyway. DS put his mattress topper on the mattress provided, then the elasticized mattress protector, then his fitted sheet. I suppose it'll do. |
