transferring tags in MD: minivan to sedan

I have gotten conflicting information when calling the MVA in MD and asking about transferring tags from the minivan that we're selling (Odyssey) to the sedan that we're buying (Prius).

Are they the same vehicle "class," in which case a tag transfer is permitted, or not?

This graphic from the MVA's website is not helpful, since I don't know whether the Odyssey is considered a "van" or a "passenger vehicle". (class 3 vs class 2)

Odyssey is a passenger vehicle. It's on a regular CUV chassis, not a truck chassis.

What is the benefit of transferring tags? Just get new ones. Much simpler.

OP here. Cheaper, I think. Less wasteful. I already know the number by heart. Why wouldn't you transfer? it's not hard (as long as there's no problem with the "class" issue).
