APS COVID Testing This Year?

Anonymous
Has anyone heard if APS is offering weekly COVID testing this year? I know it happened last year but didn't see it well advertised like it was the first year.

I didn't have my kids tested at school in the past because I was testing a lot at home. (Some family members are high risk for complications). I'd like to relax my vigilance at home and sign up my kids for school testing if that is happening.

It is not

Why would you expect this to continue? The pandemic is over.

The pandemic is not over but unfortunately APS testing program is.

If you want this to come back, let APS board know it’s important to you.

State and federal funding for testing ended. Ain’t no way APS is gonna pay for it.

This is the reason.

There’s nothing stopping you from testing your own kids weekly, OP.

I think you are probably right.

Our school has very few kids signed up for testing, a handful from each grade

AFAIK it is not a pandemic anywhere in the USA.

It is now an endemic virus and there has been a recent increase in cases. Just like with other endemic viruses from time to time.

You’re right in the sense that I will need a med if I catch Covid and a test too because Covid is on the rise again whether you choose to deny it or not.

Is APS still giving out rapid tests to test if you have symptoms? I hope so!

It actually is. The government isn’t paying anymore. They aren’t testing in schools. It’s endemic and will stay this way forever.
