| I was reviewing various run of the mill websites for furniture ideas recently and everything looks like Mad Men, late 1960s. I was sick of it when my parents and aunts/uncles had it when we were kids. I'm even more sick of it with its current revival. When are we going to get back to more timeless styles? Are there companies out there that are not currently catering to this period? |
| What is timeless? Every style was created at some point and then become popular and eventually faded. Some come back and fade again. |
| Mid century modern is timeless. |
+1 |
| I believe its enduring appeal qualifies it as "timeless." |
Have you tried Wayfair? I feel like they have lots of non-MCM furniture for your taste
|
| I love it! Just bought a MCM house! |
|
Can't stand MCM. Uncomfortable, ugly.
I'm with you OP. MCM was absolutely the worst for decades until very recently. It will die a well deserved death again. |
|
I am also very curious what you are looking for? like overstuffed couches from the 90's, plaid couches from the 80's, chairs you cannot really sit in from pre-war periods?
I am a fan of the sleek lines from mid century modern, not sure what would be in fashion |
| We must all be unhappy then, because I don't think the furniture today is very MCM, just sort of bland millennial. |
| Try BoConcept for sofas |
Well...it's been in style since the middle of the last century, not sure what you want here. |
Here you go OP, found the perfect couch for you.
|
| I think i need a few picture of what you mean. |
|
