Leesburg Bypass

When are they going to widen the bypass and run it four lanes to the river? Toll it and get revenue, its a shame it isn't dualized to the Maryland line.

As long as there are interchanges

Who's paying for this??

Really hope they have overpass' and interchanges like some more stack interchanges or a diverging diamond!
Anonymous
So more Marylander can get away from their crappy dem policies to work in VA? No thanks.

Marylanders want Virginians to pay for it of course.

Maryland doesn't want those cars and highway begriming its rural area.

I think you have that backwards. Virginia had been begging for a new bridge for decades and Marylanders are the ones who refuse.

Why would that matter?

Anyway, it’s not connected to any existing interstate.

Maryland is allowing dense development in its pristine rural landscape. Screaming shame. Cheap houses that will look tired in about 15 years. Meanwhile, Virginia is trying to preserve its rural landscape against all odds, not very successfully.

Maryland needs to own up to the development and build the infrastructure to support it. That includes a bridge east of Leesburg to pick up all the Maryland tech corridor commuters. They're creating incredible traffic snarls in tiny VA rural roads and towns not meant to see that level of traffic. It ain't VA's problem, but MD is making it VA's problem.

Maryland overall might be, but Montgomery County is not, and Montgomery County is what's across the river from Leesburg.

No, Maryland does not need new highways to Virginia.
