I don't think the county has a policy for elementary. I would guess it is at the school level. At my child's school, they had very minimal homework- about 15 mins math and silent reading. I don't even think there was a consequence if kids didn't do the homework.

But in terms of what it actually means for your kid, that can vary from school to school, or grade level to grade level.

At our school 4th graders are expected to read for 20-30 minutes per night and do a couple of Eureka math problems.
