DCPS Middle School sports commitment

Anonymous
My son will be starting middle school next year and plans to play a few sports. He played DCIAA sports during 4th and 5th grade at his DCPS school so I have a sense of that time commitment/schedule, but I wasn't sure if it was similar at middle school (practices during 'after care' hours, games done by 6pm etc.) It may vary by school, and I am sure I will learn more from school in the coming month(s), but I was just hopping on here to see if anybody had any general sense of things as we start to plan our family's schedule for the fall.

Depends on the sport. Some sports are pretty disorganized and have lots of cancellations.

Yes, I learned to be patient with DCIAA, ha.
I was more just curious if would be during afterschool type hours or more later in the evening. Anyway, we will figure it out!

They are afterschool
Sometimes they do early dismissal in order to get to the event.
