Fearless Fund Lawsuit

Anonymous
Edward Blum, the guy who initiated the Harvard affirmative lawsuit, recently filed suit against Fearless Fund claiming racial discrimination because the fund had a program that provided $20,000 grants only to businesses owned by Black women.

I thought this type of enterprise and initiative is the type of thing conservatives have been saying such communities should be doing, rather than depending on the government. These are private funds; not government. Yet this guy is going to war over $20K checks?!? The VAST majority of venture capital already does not go to founders from said communities.

Is the goal here really to create a permanent underclass with limited options for upward mobility?

Only if you believe minorities can't compete on their own merit.

The goal is to eliminate race as a factor when evaluating qualifications. Being a certain race or gender or sexual identity isn't a qualification. It's a human condition.

Is Italian a race. If so, watch out Italians, PP and Blum are coming for scholarships set aside for those of Italian ancestry.

Come on. Banks don’t lend money to businesses owned by Black women. They probably wouldn’t even give them a business credit card. Small business financing is a cronyism racket in a lot of places. You have to join the chamber of commerce and the country club, golf with the bank VP, attend and donate at the political fundraisers he hosts, and then maybe he’ll approve a loan with your house as collateral. Otherwise, it’s easy for the bank to say your loan application is too high risk.

+1

That’s been the GOP’s goal all along. They want the club back.

We can get there when race is no longer a factor in anything in life and when children of all races are born on the same base.

Minorities can’t compete on their own merit because the odds are stacked against them. Ever heard of systemic racism?
