Her brother has also passed. Tragic but those parents should be investigated. There need to be laws put in place for underage social media stars/influencers. [ Edit by Admin: This story turned out to be a hoax. ] |

I don't know them/ never followed them but read a few articles since my teen was interested in talking about this news.
Agree there needs to be laws put in place for underage social media influencers. It's so tragic how parents manipulate children. An extension of celebrity kids, but now at a greater scale. From what I understand, the parents were divorced, dad in Canada, mom moved to LA with kids to support their influencer careers. Lots of back and forth "he said, she said" between the parents. Apparently, the dad went to court several times to moderate the content the 14 yo was publishing (no profanity, racist or defamatory language), and request 25% of gross profits be put in trust for her, among other things. The kids lashed out at the dad and spread rumors for ruining their careers. FWIW, I think the kids died in in a car accident, the brother was driving. |
| That poor kid. Both her parents failed her. |
| What's with all the dying influencers? |
| Now the rags are saying they can't independently confirm her or her brother's death. The only record of it is a post on her instagram that isn't signed by anyone. |
| So did they both commit suicide? Did they die on the same day? WTH? |
| Hoax |
| It’s a hoax. |
What? Are they still alive? |
I can't find any sources online that confirm if it's a hoax or real. My kid showed me a video not too long ago of a crumpled sports car that was allegedly her brother's car, but again, no sources confirming that. TMZ is usually all over these types of stories and they've been pretty mum. Another video I saw on Instagram said they believe it's a hoax and will be a rebirth of Lil Tay as another persona. I had to learn who she was because my kids were talking about how messed up the situation was. I read an article that said the dad couldn't confirm or deny her death because they had become estranged and no one was relaying information to him. That's absolutely horrific and pathetic. I can't imagine hating my ex-partner and parent of my kids enough to not communicate such important news to them. |
| I feel like it’s a Taylor Swift - the old me is dead - kind of thing…. |
I am sure it is a sick hoax. One article stated that while the PR statement hadn't been signed by any family members, the father wouldn't confirm or deny, the mother would not answer any phone calls, the statement said there was a "police investigation" and the journalist could not find any such ongoing investigation in California or Canada. The good news is that the girl and her brother are probably alive and this is a hoax. The bad news is that they probably thought this was some kind of PR/marketing plan that got out of hand/took a life of its own and they can't control it anymore. |
| If they were dead, there would be records of the death. Death certificates are not confidential |
Yes and Vancouver (I think) and LA have none. Sick publicity stunt. Her dad is refusing to admit if they are actually dead. Well I guess all publicity is good publicity, had no idea who this person was before this post. |
| Gross. |
