Wow. Red use to be a good team to join for older ages. Now this team is playing in NCSL.I guess the rumors are true about the club treating families poorly. |
Which team? I see that 2012B red is playing up a year (U13 instead of U12). |
2009 and 2008 girls red are in NCSL now- I guess the ex-GA teams took their National league spots. So terrible |
What is so terrible? Most GA girls left before joining Alexandria or after this past year. |
Their U13G Red team is playing Div 2 in NCSL. This is their 2nd and 3rd tier teams combined from last year + new girls coming in I guess at 2011G.
Their top team this year is comprised of their preGA (top team) from last year. Since they got fired from GA, they are now the National team playing in the USYS League this season. They did include some of their top players from their 2nd team last year onto this National team. Will be interesting to see how they fare in a new league in USYS.. |
What age group? The youngest age groups have always done NCSL. The 2012 and 2013 Red do EDP. After that, Red becomes the second team below MLS Next. |
What age group? On the boys side, the youngest age groups have always done NCSL. The 2012 and 2013 Red do EDP. After that, Red becomes the second team below MLS Next. |
For boys, by U12 (so this year, 2012) the top team is labeled the "Pre-MLS Next" and the second team is labeled "Red"; by the next year the top boys team is labeled "MLS Next" and the second team remains "Red".

2009 red this year is nothing like 2009 from last year. Most of the team left and I am not sure how they are having three teams at this age group between the attrition from GA and the previous red team. Alexandria parents will see a lot of familiar faces filling other club rosters. |
Boys or girls? |
If a gender isn't specifically mentioned in this forum, always assume the message refers to a girls team. ![]() |
Their top teams are National now; Red is the second team. |
What's wrong with their #2 girl's team playing in the NCSL? That is a well-run league with a lot of healthy divisions. If it is a rebuilding year, for this team, NCSL division 2 at U15 will be plenty competitive. Division makeup at this age is mostly the result of several years of promotion/relegation. People need to get out of their bubbles more, the upper NCSL divisions are pretty tough. |
Yes because billions of people around the world care about girls soccer lol |
You new around here? People on DCUM care very, very much about girls’ soccer and the college admissions boost it can provide. |
