Has anyone heard anything about online fall class offerings, especially Health B?
My student had too many conflicts to do in-person Health B this summer, and doesn't want to lose elective spots during the school year. They might have the same conflicts next summer, and they have an extracurricular that would interfere with evening online classes in the spring. |

If they can't make time for it in the summer, then they *might* have a conflict come graduation.
You have eight opportunities to take it. Make the time. |

I have the same question as OP.
My DD did Health A online last year during the spring. It was way less stressful than what her peers reported for summer Health A because it was spread out more. She wants to do Health B the same way. To the PP, plenty of kids take online Health A in the evening during the school year. Your assertion that they need to take it in place of an elective is ridiculous. MCPS is just very delayed in creating the online curriculum for Health B, and it has not been available even in the summer. Not everyone can attend in-person classes in the summer. |

I'm not sure if this happened at every high school but when summer course registration happened at my DD's high school, Health B was offered in-person.
End of May (?) they made it be an online class. There were two times students could take the class - 8 am and an evening class. Student could select either time that worked for them on a class by class basis. Maybe see if your high school will do something similar next summer? |
Does the school-year online version have mandatory online attendance every evening? In other words, is it just an additional class period they have to slot into their personal schedule for M-F evenings? |

This is the Health specialist in the MCPS Office of Curriculum and Instructional Programs: Teresa_Shatzer@mcpsmd.org
She is the person to ask whether they will have an eLearning version of Health B ready for Fall. |
