Reason to Hope?

Anonymous
Hi everyone: I'm a PCOS patient with no insulin resistance. After a fresh IVF cycle in January, my husband and I ended up with five total embryos. We implanted one fresh but miscarried at nine weeks. We then implanted one frozen but it didn't take and now we're thinking of implanting two and leaving one left over. I take metformin, pre-natal vitamins and extra folic acid. Has anyone been through similar losses/failures, then implanted two and had success? I guess I'm getting nervous that I will have to undergo another fresh cycle or move on to adoption, neither of which is really my first choice at this point. Can you give me any reason for hope or offer any suggestions to make this an easier time? I have a great support system which is nice and have tried acupuncture but my doctor feels it's all just bad luck.

If it helps at all, I had 2 fresh and one frozen that didn't take and finally a 3rd fresh where we implanted 2 and got our daughter with a day 3 embroyo. We had one left over that we decided to freeze (why not we thought). A year later after our daughter was born we implanted the frozen. Much to our surprise, it not only took, but split and gave us our identical twin boys. It can work. I'm rooting for you!!!

Don't give up. We had a failed first cycle. Got pregnant on our second and then miscarried. We got pregnant again on the third and I am now past the first trimester. I wish you the best of luck. Hang in there....really!

I have PCOS and I have just started metformin for the insulin resistance, why are you taking it if you don't have insulin resistance?? Is it helping you ovulate on your own? I have very irregular cycles and we have only just begun thinking about clomid or other medications to help me ovulate.
