Gray divorce revolution

As 2/3 of divorces are initiated by women, I try to be good. But in all seriousness, a divorce would make retirement hell. For older couples where things go south, why not just have an arrangement where you live separately with don't ask don't tell?

I do not want to divorce at this age and know it is a bad financial decision, but I am so tired of so many things. I thought this morning that I should just start living as if I am single. Example: spouse won't discuss, help decide, or act on a house maintenance issue that can no longer be ignored so I will make the decision on how to handle it on my own and proceed with getting the work done.

This is what I'd like to do. He can have his dream of living in a remote area and I'll visit occasionally. I just don't know if I'll make it until then.
