DH and typically handles the vacation planning but I owe DH a trip and know he would love a week or two in St Tropez. What are your favorite luxury hotels there? It will just be the two of us.

Hotel Byblos or the Cheval Blanc might be good, although I don’t have any first hand experience. It’s not exactly St. Tropez, but the Four Seasons Cap Ferrat is great. |
Taking my girls (age 18 and 14) to SOF this summer.
Should we do: 3 nights Paris, 2 nights Antibes and 4 nights St. Tropez. Does that sound right? Hotel suggestions in St. Tropez or Antibes??? |
I'd add a night to Paris and consolidate into 5 nights in Antibes or St. Tropez, doesn't seem worth the hassle of transferring between the 2. If you decide on Antibes, I'd probably just fly Paris-Nice. It's quite a distance, and the train is high speed all the way to Marseille, but then quite a bit slower along the coast. It's around 5.5 hours on the train, versus a 30 minute bus ride direct from Nice Airport to Antibes. St. Tropez is about halfway between Marseille and Nice, and not on the train line, so harder to get to. Probably train to Toulon and then bus or very expensive taxi to Saint Tropez. Then over 1.5 hours to Nice Airport on the way out, or 2 hours to Marseille Airport. Antibes definitely much easier logistically. |
Agree with the previous poster to stay in one place in the South of France rather than 2.
I would personally stay in Cannes as it is more central if you want to visit somewhere as far out west as St. Tropez or as far to the east as Monaco/ Eze village. If Cannes isn't your thing, I would stay all 5 nights in St. Tropez. Antibes is beautiful but i felt it was more quite and there wasn't much to do. |
St. Tropez is overrated. Nice, Antibes, Eze, St. Jean, Cagnes sur Mer are better choices. |
