If you want to have your best odds of being accepted at one of these three schools: Colgate, Lehigh, BC

What's your ED strategy?

ED1 BC
ED2 Colgate
RD Lehigh
????

Or is Lehigh getting so competitive that if you don't get accepted to BC or Colgate ED, forget about getting into Lehigh RD?

Is the better strategy:
ED1 BC (or Colgate)
ED2 Lehigh
????

Student has a slight preference for BC but loves all three. Thanks!

Lehigh takes a lot from the wait list.

ED1 BC if there is a preference
ED2 Colgate

What is intended major, scores? M/F?

DS applied to Lehigh RD. It was somewhere between a target and safety based on stats. He was waitlisted. I think they take a lot of the class ED.

CS no hook male from FCPS HS class 2023 was offered 1/2 tuition merit from Lehigh RD. Campus tour. Can't speak to the other two.

BC is very competitive. 15% acceptance rate for class of 2027. If that’s truly his first choice, apply ED1.

They are all LACs--just apply ED and have your checkbook ready !

Major is important but I believe last year LeHigh acceptance rate was 25%, Colgate likely easier. BC is not good for engineering

For STEM, ED 1 for Lehigh.

DC was accepted to BC a couple of years ago. Was one of her final 3 options. Went to do a final visit in mid April. Got a few inches of snow while there. Came off the list. If going STEM then ED for Lehigh is the choice.

Impressive as they are not known for merit aid.

BC
Colgate
Lehigh

* unless Stem, apply Lehigh ED 1

I would ED1 Colgate (40-50% acceptance rate). If deferred, then ED2 Lehigh, since that will be more likely. BC has a 20-30% ED acceptance rate and I know a lot of Catholic legacies apply. I wouldn't want to miss the opportunity for the other two schools, unless your kid has really high stats.
