New to the area. Where do BSC boys team play if they are not MLSNext?

We found information about the girls side for DD but can't find much information about the boys side. Where do the older boys play?

This is new for this fall is that the second team plays in the newly created National Academy League. The rest will likely play EDP still.

Which bites for teams still in EDP 1 mid-Atlantic now facing third or fourth teams from big clubs like Bethesda and Cedar Stars when they used to face pretty high quality second teams.

If your child is older and has a wish to play D1 he has to make that Bethesda NAL team or higher and sooner rather than later…Bethesda tends to recruit the shiny object that beat them the week prior for their top teams.

Or like most of Bethesda disgruntled players simply move to Potomac - and perhaps the best league overall: ECNL.

Second team in NAL. Third team in edp division 4 or 5.

Can you please explain using logical, rational and verifiable truths how ECNL is the "best league overall"?

Wait … I thought Bethesda boys play in MLS Next at U13 and higher … did that change?

Yes / their top team is MLS Next and then the second is NAL. If you’re good and want to play for your high school team then look at Potomac as they now have ECNL, which is a better league than EDP. And if you’re looking to play in college coaches go to ECNL showcases.

They do. OP was asking about their second and lower teams I think. Second teams play in NAL and I’m assuming lower teams play in EDP.

Most D1 offers

The boys say this
MLS Next - pro track
ECNL - D1
EDP - D2 or high D3

Not sure about National League since so knew.

Agree 100% with PP - that’s what I have heard re: the different leagues

If MLS Next is clearly the top league, made up of MLS Pro Academies and MLS Next Affiliate teams, why would College Scouts go to ECNL to recruit primarily?

-Just guessing, but College Scouts know they might not be successful getting MLS Next Kids as those kids have aspirations to go directly into professional soccer. Additionally, some of the MLS Next players might not be college material or not likely to commit to all 4 years of the program.

Just commenting here that my son's ECNL team has had MLS Next players join due to the fact they wanted to play for their high school team. I think it's a shame MLSNext players aren't allowed to do so.
