What medical care before Medicare?

Any recommendations for things one should try to attend to before health insurance spits them out to Medicare?

If you want to be a patient at some medical systems you need to be a patient of record before going on Medicare. Otherwise, they don’t take Medicare. Mayo is one example.

Oh oh. How does one do this? I don't need to visit Mayo now, but might in three years when on Medicare. How does one finangle this?
