Tipping sports instructors?

Is it customary to tip youth sports instructors? The instructors are teenagers and the sport is like group pickleball instruction. They did a very good job teaching the kids over the summer.

If it is appropriate to tip, how much and how? I was thinking $20 starbucks gift card?

(Not a sports person myself, so I don't know what is customary or expected.)

Please stop this tipping culture.

I wouldn’t. Kid is making at least minimum wage. Tipping has gotten out of hand. Just tell them thank you and let them know they did a great job. Maybe a note to their manager.

No. My kids have a private coach. I give a cash gift during the holidays but that’s about it.

We haven’t. The kids are either working for a company and we don’t tip for those lessons or camps or doing this privately and making a ton of money cash.

^ adding, I’ve never tipped the teens for summer tennis lessons at the pool. I’m thinking that’s equivalent

I will often give a gift card (around $20) and a thank you note to instructors at the end of the series of lessons or around the holidays, especially if they’re teens or college age.

We did this with our college age Y camp instructors at the end of each bi-weekly session.
