exmissions?

what colleges did the students from sidwell, st albans, ncs, gds etc end up accepting at?

Won't know until late summer, when the lists are published by some of the schools. Sidwell has never published its list for public consumption.

Some of the local schools have started posting lists (GPrep, Landon, St Anselm's, etc). I've plugged numbers from a handful into the spreadsheet linked from the FAQ. If people find other schools that have posted lists, I'd really appreciate a link to them. Also, if anyone has a list that is not posted on a website (for example from a school newspaper), I'd love to give you an email address where you can send me a PDF copy.

Repeat with me. College Placement. College Placement. College Placement.

It's not exmissions. No one who is actually involved in the process calls it exmissions. Do yourself a favor and learn this simple fact, you'll appreciate it when you don't look like a moron during that first conversation with your kid's college counselor.

Of course I'm not going to use the term "exmissions" in the college-placement interview -- duh! I think most people know it's just a cute play on the word "admissions." Your injunction is a bit heavy-handed.

Also, it's much easier to type, especially from an iPhone.

I like "emissions" even better than "exmissions." More Latinate.

Thanks SAM2, your spreadsheets are great. I heard STA is not going to publish its list in the school bulletin any more, so that will be a hole.

Read through the archives here. No school can get a mediocre kid with no legacy and no athletic flair into the Ivies. And if your kid has those things, you can quite simply go public if an Ivy is your goal. Choose private schools only if you value the experience itself.
