| My little guy has been wearing those slip-on style Nike sneakers which he loves and they're so easy, but I'd love for him to transition to tie shoes this school year since they seem more durable than those slip on shoes. Do your 9 yr olds wear tie shoes and if so what are boys wearing these days? I was just thinking of sticking with Nikes but just curious if there's a good go-to shoe for 3rd grade boys. |

Lots of variation exists. Choose whichever you like.
Our DC happens to wear gray new balance running shoes, which are a pretty generic choice, not stylish. |

Under Armour and Adidas are what I usually see. But you can't go wrong with Nike.

| My soon-to-be 12 year old hates laces. We get him whatever sneakers he likes and picks out and then I buy the silly feet laces (the ones that look like coils) and we put them on. Turns any regular sneaker into a slip on. His twin brother gets regular sneakers will regular laces. |

| They all seem to fall apart in 3 months so I buy whatever is on sale |

| Mine has pumas where the tongue is not separated but one whole unit with the sneaker. He likes them a LOT |
