Child with special needs and career and financial planning

Anonymous
Posting this here and not in special needs or career section because I am hoping to get advice from a financial perspective. We are in our early 40’s with high income careers. We also have a child (early elementary) with special needs who is falling behind in school and has other social issues (lack of friends). At times, I wonder if it would be better for one of us to be a stay at home parent to focus on our child’s need but this would reduce our income considerably and I want to make sure that we save for her future. Looking for financial planning advice from those who have been in a similar situation.

You need to define high income and the SN. How much would the household give up financially if one parent stays home?

Do you need to plan for your childs care after you die? Is your child on a diploma track and you need to save for college?

We have a special needs only child and both our families live abroad. We decided to prioritize our earnings for the future and outsource for now.
