Infertility Support and Discussion
|
My DH is at 0-1% motility and decreased sperm count every time he is checked. (it keeps getting lower and lower)
We are at 30,000 sperm. Anyone also have these low numbers or similar issues? If so, what was done to help your IVF cycle be successful? Was it successful? We were told we might have to use donor sperm but we don't want to go that route...we still have hope in using my husband's. Our first IVF cycle did not work due to only retrieving 4 eggs at egg retrieval and issues with my DH sperm. Any stories with similar sperm issues?? -worried

| curious what you meant by "issues with my DH sperm" |

My old nurse at SG once told me that her husband had 10 SPERM...not 10 million, but 10 sperm. SG was somehow able to surgically extract the sperm and fertilize her eggs via ICSI which ended up resulting in her getting pregnant with her daughter. Once the sperm was extracted, I don't think that SG did anything special to her ICF cycle to make it successful. You can still be successful, even with really bad sperm.
As far as I know, the only thing that seems to have helped some women's husbands on this board was vitamins. My husband took Conception RX and that did help his count and motility. You can google the name and purchase the vitamins online. They are a bit expensive but it did help him. |
Sorry, DH stands for Dear Husband

Thank you! That gives me hope! I will look into vitamins... |
| Gives me hope too, my husband has been taking conception rx for a month now. Btw, I discovered a way to save some money on those vitamins. They offer two versions for men- the only difference is that the expensive one contains a megadose of l-carnitine (at least that's what their website says when disclosing the ingredients). I just bought the cheaper ones and loaded up on l-carnitine at cvs. Over a 3 month period, I think it was a savings of about 70 or 80 dollars. Also, if you don't already gave a "referral code" (which reduces total price), I was able to get one via google search. |
| the vitamins definitely help, but you should also find a clinic that does IMSI and PICSI. Not sure who does it in DC, but I went to a clinic in Panama. I think Cornell definitely uses those techniques. |
What is IMSI and PICSI? |
