Do Maryland drivers even understand what yield means?

Driving on 95 and 495I came to realize what makes Maryland driver so dangerous. Maryland drivers don’t know how to yield. When the driver is entering the highway they don’t yield- they go and push their way through. I observed some close calls.

No and they don't know how to use a 4 way stop either.

I think a lot of times, MD drivers see a turn signal as a challenge. They see a turn signal and immediately speed up to cut that sucker off.

I will say though that if you're hanging out in the right most lane (which you shouldn't be), you need to allow the person merging in.

"Yield" means you will always yield to me. Always.

No, all of us collectively are totally ignorant of this.

It also means that drivers in the right most lane should not SPEED UP to cut off people merging. For yields, you should move over so that people can actually enter traffic.

No, they don't. Do you know how Maryland drivers get their license? The test has one question. It asks: Circle the picture that most resembles a road. And they are presented with Picture A, a potato. And Picture B, a highway.

That's it. That's all you need to get a license in Maryland. It explains so much though, doesn't it?

Op here and that’s right. And when I say Marilyn drivers collectively, because I’m one of them, “we” are hazardous.

I just came back from North Carolina where they know how to drive and I was surprised at how nicely people yielded and moved over for each other. It’s a completely different way of driving, and much safer.

Oh, come on. It's not that easy. They added one more question - Which one is "Yield" sign a) shows STOP, b) shows ONE WAY, c) shows School, and d) shows ALL OF THE ABOVE. i understand most people pick d.

I picked the potato, still passed

I'm going to move out of state, where the drivers are surely better.

We know. But we don't care. You figure it out for yourself.

At least Maryland drivers know how to spell Maryland! Not Marilyn.

Great. Another MD driver bashing thread. We didn't have enough of those.
