used Smart ForTwo EV for urban commuting -- what r the risks to buying this car?

I'm considering whether or not to buy a used Smart ForTwo electric vehicle for urban commuting.

The car is 10 years old, has 30K miles, and is priced at $10K.

Most of my commuting involves trips that are less than 15 miles round-trip.

The Smart ForTwo is no longer sold in the USA. This is my main concern -- that is, I'm unsure if maintaining/repairing the car will prove to be costly due to the fact it is no longer sold here.

Eventually, the battery will wear out. But I've read that the Smart's battery has an expected lifetime of over 100k miles. This is more than I will ever drive the car. I average maybe 4K miles a year.

Curious for your thoughts on the issue of maintaining/repairing the car.
