| I'm 51 years old and I need help finding a face moisturizer. I love the Skinceuticals vitamin C serum. I've also tried the Skinceuticals moisturizer, but not loving that as much and it's quite pricey. Is there a moisturizer that you love? I don't mind spending the money if it's worth it. And I've never bought a separate eye cream. Should I? |
| Honestly CeraVe |
|
I use Cerave with the 30SPF in the AM, Cerave PM at night. I've used them for probably 10 years at this point and they work great.
As for eye cream, I use Kiehl's and it's the brown jar, and I use it AM and PM, after I put on Toner and before I put on my Cerave. |
| I use the super basic Cetaphil face & body. No more dry patches or oily patches. I also use tretinoin and recently switched from Skinceutical’s C to The Ordinary’s vitamin c powder as well as their ordinary resveratrol/ferulic acid. My skin actually looks and feels better, so good budget buys that work for my skin type (51, f, combo, hormonally challenged). |
| Clinique dramatically different moisturizer, kielhs avocado eye cream. |
| +1 for Keihl's avocado eye cream. I love it. |
| I use super expensive vit C and retinol, but weleda skin food as my moisturizer. |
| Eye creams are overrated. |
| I use CeraVe on the advice of my dermatologist--the lotion in the spring and summer, and the cream in the fall and winter. I also often top it with The Ordinary's RoseHip oil to improve hydration. I think the CeraVe eye cream is just okay, but I have very sensitive eyes and most of the others I have tried are an irritant. |

My derm told me she uses Oil of Olay.
I use Eucerine redness Relief. Love it these past 15 years. Derm told me to use the night cream as a day cream. |
|
I'm also 51 and have developed some sensitivities. I've used CeraVe, Eucerin, and Aveeno, but for me the best has been La Roche Posay Toleriane.
I use a Roc Eye cream or the Boots No. 7 during the day. I use Elizabeth Arden Prevage at night. |

I'm 57 and have rosacea. I've found that using a hyaluronic acid under my regular moisturizer makes a huge difference. I use The Ordinary for the hyaluronic acid and alternate between Kiehl's and Oil of Olay.
I know you didn't ask this but I've found using a toner like The Ordinary's glycolic acid toner a couple times a week really keeps the dead skin away - I also use it on my elbows and feet. I apply it in lieu of my rosacea medication on the evenings I use it. |
Not to take this thread OT but I've been impressed by The Ordinary products. Affordable and don't irritate. I'll try to toner. Thanks! |
| I like the Obagi hydrate facial moisturizer - it's unscented and doesn't irritate my skin. I like the Obagi eye cream, too, though I am inconsistent about using it. I've tried other eye creams, and they've all irritated my skin. |
Eh, not if you have very dry skin. They're wonderful for me. |
