New season of Sweet Magnolias on Netflix

The acting and script seems a bit off/stilted, like the actors are sedated or something. Not that it’s supposed to be a realistic show, but still.

It’s so bad. The first seasons were bad, but this season is excruciating.

Oh that's too bad. I was looking forward to it like comfort food.

I am desperate so I am watching.

Yes. Watching. It’s aggravating. Dear god, the writing. I think the actors are doing what they can. Unfortunately, they can’t do much with the stilted dialogue, especially for the male characters. I cannot explain to why I watch this show and yet I’m literarily watching as I wrote this. It reminds me of that show 7th Heaven which was also bad!

I wanted to like it like I like Virgin River (and even with Virgin River, I fast forward through characters I don’t care for).
I never could get into Sweet Magnolia; it was so flat and plotless.

It was terrible and I desperately wanted to find it tolerable like the first season. Virgin River is infinitely better.

Me too.

The men are written like a chaste romance novel, where the biggest turn-on is how the men sit around talking about their feelings with each other and everyone acknowledges their shortcomings and mistakes.

I would like to inhabit a world like that, where close friendships endure and the men are all sensitive yet strong, but it's written so awkwardly. I enjoy seeing the polite children!

Helen and Eric were always the redeeming characters until this season when they both bugged me. I did enjoy hearing Helen sing and that she brought CeCe in. I still like Dana Sue's daughter and Maddie's younger son.

Good that they called Maddie on some of her annoying characteristics. But I was shocked when it ended and she didn't announce her intention to run for mayor. It feels like it's all leading up to that. But sloooowly.

When are they going to fully reveal Eric's past?! Or did that happen when I zoned out. former EMT. but what's his major trauma?

Ronnie's sister was way too over the top wicked witch. The two bad guys running off together, too much.

I sort of thought Victoria's +1 might be her and Cal's daughter. That would've shaken things up! I was only half watching most of the time so I didn't fully understand who the guy Cal was fighting. Former teammate who took on his position, right? But what was the fight about?

So funny, I watched it a little while ago but have already forgotten who Victoria and Cal are.

I feel like conflicts get introduced and resoled in the.ksot random ways. And there's like no character development but then sudden change. I have no idea why Annie is even going out with Jackson and so in love with him. When did that even happen?

I just got too churchy for me!

It was really preachy and churchy this season. They were so annoying.

It's definitely a fantasy and ideal.

I do like Dana Sue's resentment of Maddie's friendship with Pastor June. That's kind of funny and realistic.

Dana Sue looks so much like my neighbor that I’m afraid I may call her Dana sue!
