Can I prepare this cucumber salad now?

It's for a 5pm event, and it's now 1pm. I don't want to wait until 3-3:30. Will the cucumbers get mushy?

Basic ingredients are cucumbers, carrots, olive oil, salt, shallots, chevre, and some herbs.

That sounds good! I agree about chopping and preparing the dressing but not combining.

Do you have a recipe?

No vinegar? I would prepare everything and add goat cheese table side. I like to salt and drain the cucumber beforehand to pull some water out and keep things crunchy. But I also like lots of acid and less oil on cucumber, so you may be going for a different style.
