Best bulbs for shade garden?

My townhouse garden is mostly shade. Which types of bulbs do you recommend I plant amidst the hostas, ferns and astilbes? TY!

Is it always shady, or just when certain big trees are fully leafed out? I planted dozens of daffodils in the “shade” of my trees but they bloom before the trees really provide much shade.

That’s a great point, PP. Our shade comes from a combo of large evergreen and deciduous trees. There’s definitely some light. Just curious if daffodils or tulips or crocus are more known for shade, or if you look for specific types of each?
