| I’m looking for a news podcast that I can listen to that tells me everything I need to know about certain news stories. For example, I have been off the grid for the last week and want an update on the missing alabama woman situation from start to finish, the Long Island serial killer, etc. I typically listen to NPR up first, but They tend to not cover things like this and instead today it’s about climate change and grain prices. Even the written news articles are focusing more on commentary instead of just laying out what happened. |
| With those examples, you might want to just look for a true crime podcast. |
| The Daily has deep dives on current news topics. |
| The Adam Friedland Show. News from a center-left perspective. |
|
The thing you want requires rewriting the podcast every day as new facts develop in each case.
|
| I listen to Pod Save America and their ads for the What a Day podcast seems to be what you’re describing, although I don’t listen. Obviously not going to work if you’re on the opposite side of their politics, though. |
This would be NPR News Now. It's their hourly newscast, just the latest news. Up First is generally what's going on with, I think, three major stories. |
| Today Explained by Vox Media |
| Thanks all, great suggestions! Laughing at the true crime, because typically that is not my favorite, but I guess these two examples sort of fall into that category. |
This is what I was going to suggest. They are about 30 minutes. On the weekends, they might post a NYT Sunday magazine story. Or it might be a deep dive on a particular story. |
