I bought some fresh tart cherries at the farmer's market. Any good recipes?
Bonus points if the recipe is very easy because my original plan was to eat them raw; however, au naturel they are too acidic for my tastebuds. |

How many cherries? Whenever we have too many sour cherries we make a clafoutis, but it’s kind of a pain getting the pits out.

Easiest yummy thing is a cobbler. Google any cobbler recipe. Add a bit more sugar than for another fruit because of the tartness.
Remember to pit the cherries first. Also, cherries freeze well if you can’t find a good recipe now. Pit them and stick them in the freezer for later. |
| I would do a crisp over a cobbler (oatmeal/cinnamon butter topping rather than dough). And for the cherries, you'll need to add pectin or gelatin or lots of cornstarch, because they are made up of a lot of water |

| Hard to beat a sour cherry pie. Recipes online. Do not scale back on sugar. Sour cherries need a lot of sugar. |
| I always make stewed fruit to put on yogurt. Much better than the sugar-laden fruit-at-the-bottom yogurts at the store. It's very easy. |

When I find sour cherries, I make it into jam (no need to can it) and store in the fridge. It’s a great topping for sourdough toast with ricotta.
If I have a lot of jam I make a gâteau basque with the sour cherry jam as the filling. |
