The current serial killer in Chicago no one is talking about

Anonymous
I believe the count is up to 17 bodies found in Chicago's waterways in less than a year. Almost all of them are younger males that go missing after a night out (concert, bar, friends parties). They are all reported missing by frantic friends, families, or significant others as largely noted to be responsible people who would never willingly disappear and then boom without fail a few days later they're floating in the river or lake.

The second to last one went missing at a concert my brother was at. He went to the bathroom and never came back to his friend. Was found floating in the river next to the venue a few days later. Then a couple weeks later (last week) another body was found in the exact same spot.

What is happening and why is no one talking about it? There hasn't even been any PSAs issued or anything.

What do you mean no one is talking about it? I see many news articles.

From that article there is surveillance video of several of those men falling into or walking into the lake while severely intoxicated.

When there is a venue with alcohol (and possibly drugs available) right next to a waterway, these things happen OP.

Maybe there is a serial killer, maybe there are also lots of young men who get intoxicated and end up falling in.

Probably the same amount of posts as the Long Island serial killer. I had no idea there was a serial killer there until he was caught this past week.

NP. I get the alcohol plus waterway equation but I can’t imagine it happens THAT frequently that these guys just stumble off the bridge or roll down the riverbank.

I am SO not a conspiracy theorist, but I saw a documentary on the Smiley Face killer(s) and these deaths seem similar. It’s eerie.

I tend to agree with this. This seems . . . alot for just these to be accidents. And I don't think "accidental" has been concluded in all of them. I just feel like I'm watching a true crime series where the deaths are dismissed early on an an order to close cases or not deal with them. "Alcohol intoxication" is the easy out. And while it -may- be the answer here, I think they need to look a little closer. Something seems off, for sure.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist by nature, either.

Yes, it reminds me of the cliff in Australia? Someone had been luring gay men there and pushing them off. Finally labeled as homicides twenty years later.

This happens pretty frequently in Baltimore…drunk person by themselves will fall into the harbor late at night and drown.

There have not been 17 drownings this year. The number is closer to 6-7. Some have fallen into Lake Michigan, others into the river. Besides one suicide, all of these bodies have been found with huge amounts of alcohol in them. It’s really not that crazy.

Same story in Boston.

I live in Chicago and no one here is talking about a serial killer as there is ample footage of these drunk dudes falling into the river. There hasn't been 17. And it is sad.

There are tragic drownings every year in Lake Michigan so maybe that is where that number is coming from.

Going out to drink alcohol is so stupid.

+2

It's not local here to DC so it's not a major talking point nor concern.

DC has it's own crime problems so that's plentiful for most to read about.
