My 3 year old's feet seem to be twice the size of his classmates - I cannot keep up with how fast his feet are growing! I just bought him a size 13 shoe!
Is this normal for boys? Does this just continue until they reach their full adult height? I cannot believe how quickly I have to buy shoes for him. He is also in the 99th percentile for height and weight so I guess it tracks but it continues to surprise me, especially given that DH and I are average height. |
| You have a big kid with big feet. It is what it is. |
| This is so kid specific but not at all extreme. One of my girls was like that and now wears women’s 8 at age 10. She has a good friend who wears a 1, yet they’re the same height |
| My 3 yo son is in the 99th percentile for height and wears a 5T but a size 10. So I think your kid just has big feet. |
OP here - yes the pants I just bought for DS are a 5T/6T and they fit perfectly. At this rate he is going to have size 15 shoes or something as an adult. |
| Get him swimming! Big feet are a huge asset! |
| He just going to be a giant kid. Put him in sports that benefit from size. |
| You should obviously bind his feet to stop them from growing. |

It usually indicates height. Are you (parents) tall?
Flatter feet can also measure taller. I had a size 9 adult foot (i am female) by 4th grade. I am 10.5 now as an adult so they tapered off obviously. I am 5’10, which is pretty tall for a female but not ungodly tall. |
| Sorry just saw you are average height |
| My kids had big feet. Now DS13 wears a 12, and DS12 wears a 10. |
| It's a tall kid thing. My daughter is in the high 90s percentiles for height and has always had much bigger feet than her friends. Maybe a size 12 as a 3 year old and size 3.5 now as a 7 year old. There are one or two taller boys in her grade with even bigger feet. It's just how it goes with tall kids. |

My 20 month old DS wears size 10s. I assume by 3 he will be far beyond a 13. He is incredibly tall.
But the apple doesn’t fall far, I’m a woman who wears size 12. I’d much rather be a man with big feet. |
| Some kids start out super tall and big and then slow down as they hit preschool age. My DD did that. |
My DDs did that too. They were in 90th percentile until 3 or so and the started losing. They are 9 and 7 and in the 60th percentile. Oldest has somewhat big feet (women size 7 at almost 10) and she is far from starting puberty. DH is tall and SIL is 6’, but I am only 5’3”. My son is 4 and still 90th percentile. I think he wear a size 12 though so not huge. |
