I’m fairly certain that I don’t want kids, so why do I keep saving parenting content?

I saw a post on Instagram this morning of this cute little girl and how to properly potty train. Without thought, I saved it to my “parenting folder”. I hadn’t realized until this morning that I have this folder on my IG, FB, and TikTok, with multiple videos saved across each platform. I’ve felt for many years that I would be fine without having kids and don’t really want them. So, why save parenting content then? Anyone else experience this?

Hormones. Instincts.

If you don't have kids, you'll be the only one of your thousands of human ancestors who made that choice.

You're reparenting yourself?

Sounds like you do actually want kids since it’s in the back of your brain. I was unsure for a long time and never saved parenting advice.

Did you end up having kids? If so, what made you decide on them?

Society raises us all to think we'll become parents. You don't have to overthink this. I actually have two kids and don't have a parenting folder on social media at all. It doesn't have to mean anything, in either direction.

It's interesting in an anthropology-study way. Maybe some biological clock stuff, too.

Don't have kids if you aren't 100% sure, and maybe even if you are.
