Prerequisite for classes

Excluding the math track and foreign language, any prerequisites (class or grades) to qualify for some high school classes in 9th?

Not the “normal” 9th grade track.

But if 9th graders are far ahead they can take more advanced CS and science classes that year. I don’t think that is super common though.

Except - plan to do summer PE prior to 9th if your kid wants to do orchestra or band as it’s hard to fit it in otherwise.

PE is two years.

There are two electives in 9th and 10th. Foreign Language and Band/Orchestra/Theatre/Chorus Are what many students do. If the student wants another elective before 11th grade, then doing Summer PE would be a way to add one.

Summer PE is a really important route if you have a band kid.

Other than student interest, how does doing just two years of Band/Orchestra/Theatre/Chorus help? contributes to college major or college app?
