teen wants to try sugaring

I didn’t even know what it was, had to Google it. No clue if it’s as good as waxing but she insists she wants to try it and pay for it herself.
Anyone have personal experience with a place that specializes in this hair removal? Name of place and technician appreciated in northern va. I want a reputable place so I’m not nervous. Thanks!

It’s the same as waxing. I’ve done both with no difference in results. Although with sugaring they pull the hair out in the direction of the growth vs opposite with waxing.

I’ve been sugaring for years (pre-pandemic for years). Over time it’s made my hair grow in fiber to non existent in certain areas which has been nice but not sure that’s usual for everyone.

While uncomfortable, I find it less painful and rough than waxing.

I would suggest NOT going when she’s PMS’ing and sensitive. The week after her cycle ends would be better.

Ive tried it, and it didnt hurt any less than waxing, but took longer.

You don’t need a reputable place. There’s no heat involved unlike vaxing. The worst they can do it not pull out all the hair. Did it in another country and it’s fine. Good thing your teen knows more about beauty than you do my mom was always clueless but she grew up in another time and place
