NVSL Swim Team - Near Eastern Loudoun?

Anonymous
Anyone live in Loudoun (Ashburn/Sterling) have a child on an NVSL team? Obviously there would be some driving and outside fees involved, but this is something I’m willing to consider for the right environment. Thx!

Perhaps Pleasant Valley? They are in Chantilly.

I thought perhaps Sully II or Poplar Tree, but I think you might have to be part of their HOA.

You’d need to get on a waiting list at Hunter Mill. AFAIK, they’re directing inquiries from those who want a more immediate solution to Fox Mill Woods, which as of recently still had available memberships.

They’re all in Arlington and Fairfax Counties. Loudoun has its own league, as does Prince William.

OP here - we’re already with a Colonial League team in Loudoun and it’s a bit of a dud. I grew up in the NVSL. Just in the very early stages of exploring options on the Western side of Fairfax that would be within a reasonable driving distance.

If your swimmers are good one of the teams in Arlington or McLean will provide transportation.

There is a google map of all the nvsl pool locations if you are looking for the ones close to you.

Fair Oaks might work depending on where you are. You have to live within 7 miles of the pool.

I found this last night! Very helpful. 👍🏻

You can also check out the Old Dominion Swim League which covers Loudoun County. Lots of excellent club swimmers in that league.

Anyone with the Herndon Hammerheads or Hiddenbrook that could speak to the social/team spirit culture of their teams? I’m not worried about competition. Looking for a team with lots of spirit, tradition, social events (especially pep rallies), older swimmers really stepping up to mentor younger swimmers.

Cascades Rapids definitely has this, but you have to live in the HOA.

Let your child swim at the pool their friends are. There are great teams out that way. CSL is a great league with teams in FFX and out there.

Join your neighborhood pool and have fun. I guarantee there are great ones around you
