| $230 for lawn tickets, but they clearly oversell, because there’s literally nowhere to sit. It’s completely packed like sardines. And for some of it you can’t actually see anything. Ironically the weather cleared up and was fine but that’s about all I can say for it. The place is totally disorganized. Everyone I tried to ask a question or for directions was rude. Fairfax police directing traffic (or really just standing around yelling at people) were so rude that my 9 year old asked me why the policeman was mean. I hate to write this because I can see it’s a cool venue or could be with better management, but people should know that lawn tickets are not worth it - unless I guess you get here hours early. We ended up leaving, so nearly $230 out the window and rude treatment to boot.I really would not recommend and would not come back. |

Did you get to sit next to he self important a-holes who talked the whole performance?
Good times! |

Once bitten, twice shy.
Such is the case for many people seeking entertainment -price gouging by resale ticket sellers, etc. Easier to stay home and watch on your TV. |
| OP here - to be clear - I bought the tickets from wolf trap’s website, not a reseller. The prices were Wolf Trap’s prices. $40 something per ticket plus of course the fees. It ended up over $50 a ticket. Total waste of money, time, and disappointed kid on top of everything. I mean….when your kid is noticing how rude the people are…. |
| Yeah - never buy lawn seats. Now you know! |
| I love the lawn, but only go to less popular shows. |
| Yep. I hate, hate, hate the Wolf Trap lawn. I always end up surrounded by drunk people that yell and laugh and make general nuisances of themselves all through the performance. If you are super unlucky, you can also spend the evening swarmed by gnats. |
+1 Always huge crowds sitting in a group, always a bunch of drunk blowhards. People, there is limited space - shut it. |
Oh. I understand now. This was mismanaged expectations. I'm sorry, OP. Lawn seats are a bit of a cattle call. Did you arrive late? Or even mid to late? |
| I always get a real seat. The lawn is for losers. |
| Lawn seats are for twenty year olds. |
Ah… I see. For people like you. 😀 |
No, over an hour in advance and still got stuck in horrendous traffic on way in. |
|
Literally no spot left to sit as in there was a crowd of people standing behind the lawn because they couldn’t fit? Or no spots big enough or far enough away from people to suit your preference?
I can’t imagine paying that money, spending the time and effort getting there, and then forcing my kid to leave (unless it was truly packed like sardines and dangerous). Plus if this was the princess show, you missed a great show! My friend was there with her daughter and sent me a few videos. Looked like so much fun. |

I love Wolf Trap, but I never sit on the Lawn.
It’s true that the Lawn is where young people sit to picnic and socialize rather than watch the show. If you really want to see the performance, you pay more for a seat in the pavilion. |
