Our dentist recommended cleanings every three months for 14 y.o. DC who has braces. They said she is generally doing a good job with cleaning.
How often does your teen get teeth cleaned at the dentist? I will have to pay out-of-pocket for any extra cleanings. |
It's worth paying for. We just started on teh 3 month schedule. |
DD with braces has cleanings every 6 months. Ortho and Dentist said she's very good with cleaning her teeth. |
Our kids get a waterpik when they get braces. Our dentist hasn't ever recommended more frequent cleanings but they're very cost conscious. |
My son had to have his removed early due to decalcification spots. I wish I had paid for cleanings every 3 months. |
I went with 1 extra cleaning per year... so about every 4 months. Our dentist had a good out of pocket price for this extra session. (Braces on for 2 years, so we had 2 extra cleanings.)
Make sure you buy a water pik for "flossing." |
Both of my kids went every 3 months for cleanings. The extra cost was totally worth it but I do understand not everyone can swing it. |
Ooh great idea! I'd totally go for it but my kid has Invisalign so not needed. |
Can teeth get stained with Invisalign? |
We go every 4 months. |
We went the usual every 6 months, nothing more than that was recommended. But I do like the idea of at least one extra cleaning a year. |
Every 3 months while the braces are on. Our ortho removes the wire, then we go to the dentist for the cleaning, then back the ortho for the wire back on. |
