Infertility Support and Discussion
| Anyone experience severe depression with Clomid? |
|
I don't know about severe, but clomid caused depression symptoms for me.
I don't suffer from depression, and when I was on clomid I felt horrible. Really sad, hopeless, not caring about anything, would sometimes just start crying for no real reason while I was in the car alone -- things that are not like me and that I knew didn't feel "normal." And I don't think it was depression/sadness from fertility issues (though perhaps it can be hard to distinguish, depending on the circumstances?) because I honestly wasn't all that stressed about the fertility aspect at that point, I had just started working with an RE and I was very hopeful & optimistic. And I felt better as soon as I got off the clomid. |
| Yep -- you just described how I have been feeling exactly. And even though I know it's not normal for me and probably not based in reality, it still is very difficult to get through. Thanks. -- OP |
| I felt that way, and it got worse with each Clomid cycle we did (I did 5 total.) |
| I had severe depression with clomid and I only did one cycle, luckily I did not experience the same symptoms with the injectables for IVF and I got pregnant with the first cycle. I had a similar experience with bcp's so it seems that only synthetic hormones cause difficulty, but natural stuff was okay. |
| Yes, horrible depression on clomid. Couldn't stand it and luckily only did one cycle on. Also doing injectables and have not experienced the same problems. |
| I wouldn't say severe depression, but it does make me really weepy about stuff that wouldn't normally cause that type of reaction (like, even remotely). |
