I'm looking for a new-to-me small SUV and noticed that pricing at Carvana is competitive or even lower than MD/VA dealers on certain models.
However, I'm not loving the concept of buying sight unseen and have read Reddit anecdata about delayed deliveries, cars received in crap condition, and issues dealing with Carvana's warranty/CS department. If you've bought with Carvana (specifically from the Gaithersburg location), how was your experience? |

I’d be happy to sell a car to Carvana, but would not buy from them because they don’t do a thorough job of inspecting and reconditioning the cars before they sell them to you.
It may have changed, but a friend sold a car to them with problems and Carvana didn’t even drive the car for one minute before buying it, they just towed it away and gave him the check. Carvana has even bragged on their earnings calls about how little they spend on reconditioning the cars. If you find Carvanas pricing better than the local dealer on a comparable car, just go to the dealer, show them Carvanas price and say I’d rather do business with you can you beat that price? (Just make sure you decline the bs extras such as clearcoat, tire warranty, vin etching, door scratch guards, extended warranty, etc). |
