Depending on if you're subsidized or not, rates shot upwards to 7%. Seems in line with inflation, but still hard to stomach since pay didn't rise by nearly as much...

Childcare has never been cheap.

Not sure any of the alternatives (nanny, babysitter, other places like after school karate) will be any cheaper.

We were on the waitlist for five years. I'll pay!

Wow - What school? Your DC has got to be getting to the age where they can just come home - LOL!

This will be our first year in SACC. I logged into my account and don’t see any obvious place to enter payment information. Do I need to look harder? Where is it? (Are you auto-billed through the portal?)

(TIA!)

It's still very affordable (a lot cheaper than anything private) and there is a sliding income-based scale for the fees.

You'll get an email bill.

Rates may have gone up but they've significantly increased the household income ranges. You used to pay full price at HHI of way less than 132K. I would pay way less now than I did 6 years ago.

Oh…thank you. (That could easily get missed!) On that first bill do they then auto bill or do you have to pay it each month. 😬

Related SACC question: We are only signed up for aftercare.

On teacher workdays when SACC is open, will my child be able to attend or is that for only the kids who have before & after slots?

You will be able to attend. If you are signed up for either session you can attend the whole day on workdays.

Thank you! This is our first year and we haven’t received the 23-24 calendar or any information yet, so I had a mini OH CRAP moment when looking at last year’s list.

There's no auto bill. You have to go in each month and enter all of your information to pay the bill. I think the bills come out on the 8th each month. I pay it as soon as I get the email so I don't forget.

The billing is easy to forget. So, I preprogram all of the payments for the whole school year using BillPay. Then it’s done. The monthly bills are the same. Then you don’t have to think about it and the money will be paid in the month when it is due.

The rates dropped after COVID. Now they are on the rise again.
