I have stopped drinking due to a medication interaction, so I have been off of alcohol for a month. I was a regular-enough drinker -- not nightly, but when I went out, I usually had a few cocktails, probably 3 times per week. While I still have a butt and gut, I have noticed that my face looks far less round/bloated/puffy in photos -- basically more defined. Anyone else had this experience? |
That sounds great! You probably feel more clearheaded in the morning too. |
I think my face looks better since I stopped drinking, especially in the eye area. There is less puffiness. No one has said anything about it directly, but people do comment that I seem to have more energy in the morning and seem more awake and alert. I attribute that to sleeping better, but I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of eye puffiness makes me look more awake and ready to start the day, too. |
That's great OP |
This is pretty typical. Alcohol puffs you up. |
Same. Finally recognizing myself. Still drinking once in a while, but cut it down 75%ish. |
if there is a single positive thing alcohol does for anyone, I have yet to identify it. |
Makes you bold enough to get laid. |
I totally agree, OP.
I have noticed the opposite phenomenon in myself recently - it's been a couple weeks of frequent social drinking (BBQ here, dinner out with husband and cocktails there). Before mid-June, it had probably been since Christmas. I have noticed that my face seems rounded and bloated in a way that I associate with times I drank more and was less healthy. |
Congratulations!
No I didn’t see any change when I stopped drinking but good for you. What is your age? |
It’s fun. A drink in the evening is better than my nightly ice cream A drink before dinner alleviates my need to snack It’s relaxing It tastes good Not everybody’s body and general health is the same so most people drink without negative affects. True about food too. Some can’t eat dairy some can. Some can’t eat glutton some can. |
You sound like my sister as she slid into alcoholism. |
Glutton is my favorite food, besides mutton. |
