Re-taking a summer class

Anonymous
If a student takes a summer school class through Central and gets a B, can that student retake the class during the school year at their school?

Also, if a student decides not to do class B during the second session of summer school, can they just take it during spring semester at school?

I would assume they can retake the class for a higher grade, but for a B? Doesn’t seem worth it.

If your child is going to retake semester A, they can choose not do semester B. But I don’t think your child can have no math the 1st semester and then just take semester 2 (though this is my assumption and I am not sure of the facts).

If it’s geometry or a math class, tell your child to power through so they don’t have to retake the full semester. If it’s health, your child could also take semester 2 next summer as an option.

Yes, but are you sure they will earn an A? Why was it taken over the summer if there’s room on the schedule already?

Is it a math class? If so, no, your child must have math on the schedule even for the first semester. For other subjects that don’t require 4 credits, that should be a possibility. Talk to the guidance counselor as they work over the summer.
