I can't stand how cold it is to go inside of stores. it's 90+ outside and they make up for it by making the store 65. You need a sweater or pants to go inside of them. I need to go to the mall but am dreading how cold it will be. /rant. |
I love this. Feels great. |
I love this..it feels amazing and is a nice treat from the horrid outdoor weather |
+1 |
I moved to the US 20 years ago. Brought a ton of super thick sweaters with me because I was going to live in a state known for its cold weather. Almost never wore those sweaters because I was spending most of my time indoors as a grad student and it was very warm inside the buildings. And then I started keeping those sweaters in my office during the summer months, because it was unbearably cold inside the buildings when it was 85+ degrees outside. Thinking about the amount of wasted energy and its environmental implications sicken me to this day. |
Agree Op. No need for the stores and restaurants to blast the a/c at such low temps. Horribly wasteful. |
Same!!! |
I'm European and have always hated this about summer in America or certain parts of Asia. 90+ with humidity outside and freezing inside! My parents have to carry cardigans around with them when they visit me, or when they travel to similar places. |
The horror. I’m fine with this, because people who don’t have a/c at home or can’t afford it can come out and at least get some relief from the sweltering heat while they get their groceries. |
This is something to complain about? What I hate is when it’s 90 degrees outside and I go to someone’s home and they have the thermostats set to 85 and visibly sweating. Now that is torture. |
The humidity is exactly why it’s so cold. They are driving out humidity from the air, which may require a larger temp drop. High humidity is bad for inventory |
Op are you European? |
I am a staunch enviro (and have the paystubs to prove it, enviro NGOs all the way). But if you are trying on clothes, I really much prefer it be cooler in the stores. I was in a store last month and the AC was broken and it was just uncomfortable pulling on and off a bunch of stuff. Ugh now I'm all grossed out thinking about buying other people's sweaty try ons. |
+1. Sorry you can’t go to the mall or God forbid you have to put on a sweater. |
Who wants to carry a sweater around them when it’s 100 outside and may or may not be 60 inside. |
