I got a ticket at DCA a couple of months ago. He said he clocked me at 50 in a 25 as I was merging onto a highway. The cop was nice during the traffic stop and said he didn’t think I was reckless so he didn’t charge me with reckless driving and said I can prepay.
I tried to pay the ticket but it’s not registered in the system and my date is next week. They told me at the courthouse that some tickets don’t make it there in time to prepay but I can come to pay it in person. They will not confirm the cost of the ticket over the phone either so I can’t mail it back (although I think I can calculate it, they won’t confirm it). So, here’s my question: if I have to take time off to pay the ticket should I just go to court? Anyone have experience in this area? |

When you say you tried to pay the ticket... was this a couple months ago when you got the ticket, or like today?

Last week and then again this week. The court said it hasn’t been brought to them yet and that the airport cops sometimes take a while to bring the tickets for entry to the system so to keep checking…..but it’s still not there. |
| Won’t you get something in the mail? Just wait. |
| I think you can call 311 to pay. |
| My husband always goes to court if he gets a ticket. He has success getting it reduced. He hasn’t gotten one in a while. |
The court date is in less than a week and no, nothing came in the mail. |
That has been my experience also, but I’ve not heard great things about Arlington County traffic court also I plan to just pay it. |
