Fertility after miscarriage

Just experienced my first pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage at the end of January and wondering how long it took for others to conceive following their miscarriage. When does it make sense to consult with a fertility specialist? I'm in my early thirties.

Two miscarriages and got pregnant two weeks later both times, never had a period in between.

Right away. Some people swear it helps to get the hormones pumping.

I also had early losses again though. Are you testing hyper early or just waiting for your periods? It’s possible you were pregnant again and didn’t know if so.

Never got a really period, just a baby about nine months after the miscarriage bleeding. Some people want to wait to TTC again for emotional reasons, but we didn’t.

I had two early (before 6 week) miscarriages and decided to go to shady grove fertility because I was 35 and felt I was running out of time, the miscarriages did set me back s few months it seemed.

They never found a cause. I went on to have three kids - two via ivf and one natural.

My OB advised we wait one full cycle before TTC again. Waited one full cycle then TTC and conceived on that first try. Never had a MC again and went on to naturally conceive (on the first try) 4 more children after that.

I'm 38 and pregnant for the 7th time. I've had two miscarriages. Out of 7 pregnancies (starting at age 28), I've gotten pregnant on the first try 6 times, including after my first miscarriage. But after my second miscarriage, it took 3 months to get pregnant. I know I am extremely fortunate, but I thought it was interesting it took me longer after a miscarriage.

Not OP, but I'm so sorry. This is my worst fear after my MMC in May.

We only have 2 (only wanted 2) but otherwise similar experience after MC.

Also, even though she’s only a teen, we definitely talk to DD about how common MCs are. It just happens.

Of course it is sad; always. , but hopefully with greater knowledge, it won’t be devastating if it happens to her someday.

I had a healthy baby at 38. Then I miscarried at 39. My doctor advised me to hold off on TTC until after I had a normal period, which would take up to 6 weeks after passing the embryo (not from when it stopped growing, which had been 2 weeks earlier.) I had a pretty normal period 4 weeks after passing the embryo and then started TTC using an ovulation prediction kit. I got pregnant the second month and am currently in my 3rd trimester.

I was told to see a fertility specialist after trying for 6 months. For us at 6 months we ended up pregnant but miscarried at 3 months. I was able to start IVF one month after. I had to wait until hCG level tested 0 through blood work. We ended up pregnant though IVF 3 months later. If you have concerns the sooner is better to see a fertility specialist since you need many tests that can take more than one month depending on your availability to determine what the issue is.
