Can anyone recommend a pediatrician in the Rockville/North Bethesda area?
Any views on Dr. Ray Coleman or Dr. Allan Coleman? Also, who is the best Pediatric ENT around? My kids may need surgery. Willing to travel a bit. Any views on Dr. Robert Feldman? Thanks very much, |
Dr. Bahadori in Reston TC is considered one of the best pediatric ENTs around. Hope that is not too far.
Dr. Milmoe at Georgetown.
We had a terrible experience with Dr. Milmoe. He was very condescending and not at all helpful. We found Dr. Emily Boss at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore who is just great.
Another vote for Dr. Milmoe at Georgetown. Very thorough and kid and parent friendly. And it didn't take an eon to get an appointment.
We had a great surgical experience with the peds ent people at Johns Hopkins.
Love Feldman's whole practice. Easy to work with re: logistics, too.
A second vote for Dr Bahadori. We took our 5 week old to him and he was awesome. Takes a while for an appointment though....we got one bec our pediatrician called on our behalf.
Us, too. they rock. |

I also vote for Georgetown, I saw Dr. Harley and when my 6 month old started screaming in the middle of the exam he was VERY patient. I thought we'd need tubes, but he was patient, explained everything and in the end - all turned out fine. I loved that he took the time to explain to me everything he did, before he did it.

Loved Dr Bahadori. My pediatrician used him for her DDs
I recently took my 19 month old to Dr Tunkle at Hopkins (I also live in Rockville). I thought he had a great bedside manner and wasn't an alarmist. I have found that a lot of the local ENTs want to do tubes pretty quickly. Also, Hopkins is pretty impressive.
We really liked Dr Milmoe as well. He was kind patient and accomadating.
Dr. Milmoe actually treated me when I was a kid, and was great. I had an accident on a jungle gym when I was 8, and tore a vocal chord. At the time (1991), he was at Children's Hospital. I spent two weeks there, where he did two surgeries, and then I had follow-ups with him for a few years afterwards. So I had to add, b/c even as a kid, and a traumatized, hospital-bound kid at that, I liked him.
We also see Dr. Tunkel--definitely worth the trip to Johns Hopkins. Conservative, but not afraid to call it when surgery is needed. We've also seen Dr. Milmoe at Gtown and I thought he was fine. However, everything else about the ENT department is awful--long waits at appointments, really rude techs, no communication with audiology so our hearing tests were always lost or missing, and billing problems. At Hopkins, everyone is very pleasant and efficient. Inspires a lot more confidence.
