Hi,
I delivered my second 3 months ago. Since then my sweat smells so terrible that Im showering twice |
| Could be a change in your nose not sweat. Or some hormone/gland issue. |
| Mine wasn't sweat, but no one tells you that lochia (postpartum bleeding) smells like DEATH. |
| I think it’s a nose change too. I had this and my husband swore I wasn’t stinky— meanwhile I wanted to shower round the clock. There’s a hormone aspect too particularly if you’re nursing and you WILL sweat more to reduce the additional blood volume. |
| I felt my sweat was stinkier for a time post partum. Some headline or something said it was to help your baby find/identify you, but seemed like BS. Probably just hormones, temperature fluctuations, lack of sleep, etc. |
That sounds like BV, not lochia. |
| Stress causes an extreme body odor in some people so it makes sense that you might experience that postpartum. |
| Yes this happened to me and eventually went away. It continued while I was losing weight. |
| I called it the onion meat sweats. It felt very primal and agree it’s prob a pheromone thing. Also your hormones are still regulating and we know what weirdos they are. |
| I definitely had horrible BO postpartum... currently 10 months postpartum and no longer have it but don't recall when it ended |
| I don’t remember smelling bad but do remember sweating a lot. I agree with others and remembering reading it had to do with your body releasing all the extra blood volume and fluids. Definitely noticed it more in the early days when I was dropping a pound every day or so. |
| Never experienced this post partum, but may be experienceing in perimeno. Still determining if it's endemic or a one off and if it's my nose. |
Yeah i didn’t have this. |
|
I don’t remember post-partum bleeding smelling any worse than a regular period, but I think we forget that even those can be somewhat smelly since most women wear tampons, cups etc. during their periods but have to go back to pads for PP.
It’s probably hormonal especially if you’re breastfeeding. I imagine it will go away after awhile. |
| OMG yes. I got Lume cream and used it after every shower, under my regular antiperspirant. It went away once my hormones regulated - but I smelled like a teenage boy for a year. |
